Aint it amazing

Do you think the legislature will get a grip on reality? Restrict their freedom just a little and they do the jobs the said they were going to do. Politicians in Chains has a nice ring to it. They want the power they get the pain that goes with it. A Per Dium like Sherriff Joe in Maricopa county is giving sounds like a good deal. Maybe on good behavior then can get released in 4 years, unless they get reelected!
Like the rest of us working stiffs the basis of their paycheck is on production. If they can't get the job done dont let the door hit ya where nature split ya. Four years and then we get to decide if someone else is going to do a better job. FUCK THAT RECALL THE INCOMPETENTS! I think if you are unhappy with the performance of your legislature remove him from office. It happened to Gray and we got Arnie, Maybe it could happen to Dave Cox and could be replaced with one of the Greenethornes. Could you imagine bringing integrity to the legislature with a twang of smart ass?

Mr President I move that we give the Honorable representative from San Bernadino a BOOT TO THE HEAD.
I know there are more then one of us willing to step up.

PS I just heard the guy on the news say that there is a very festive mood at the capitol. Why? because they did their fucking job over three months late? Should I be impressed?

Orbitz out source rant from someone else

ilord,
Replied off list to conserve bandwidth on SCA West.
Unfortunately I see this as endemic in the so called customer service field. As a professional in that line of work I have been outsourced three times by companies looking for higher profits using The Phillippines, India, or Costa Rica. I have worked for 1 company that insists on using only trchnical support customer service in the country the call initiates in unfortunately from my point of view they mad the iphone so user friendly they could cut the support staff and again I am unemployed. The lure of easy money is going to drive corporate greed in every field of endeavour. We as consumers can only refuse to use companies that outsource ANY part of their business. I personally will not willingly shop at Wal Mart because of the high percentage of made in other then US products. We as Americans have been taking the cheap road for so long and now we wonder why our economy is in the tank?

OK I will end my response to your rant.

OK, I know it's late, I'm feeling particularly cranky, and you all
probably have much better better things to read, however with the up
coming travel which many will be making for either far flung events
within the West, or for inter-kingdom events I thought that I would
pass along a small rant I had regarding horrible customer service with
a particular travel booking company. What follows is the letter I
sent to the CEO of the company and have posted on more than a few
sites dedicated to spreading the word about their deceptive practices
and bad customer service.

This is a copy of a comment I left for the CEO of Orbitz:

Mr. Harford, CEO of Orbitz,

I have a serious problem with your company. I had previously
purchased a ticket for use in November of 2008, however was unable to
make my trip. I called your company who assured me that I would be
able to use the credit to purchase another ticket with the same
airline if I used it by September of 2009.
Two days ago on February, Friday 13, 2009 I called and booked a flight
from Anchorage Alaska to San Francisco through Salt Lake city and
back, paying the difference in the ticket cost and other associated
fees at that time.
I got the flight booked and even picked seats for the flight and was
assured an itinerary would be sent out at once so I could make
arrangements with other parties I need to contact in San Francisco.
Upon checking my email the next
day I noticed the itinerary was still not there, so I called again and
was assured the flight was booked, and that the itinerary would be
sent out as soon as your customer service rep hung up on their end of
the phone.
Well, I went about my business trusting that your service reps would
be true to their word, however I later checked once more, and it was
still not there so I called again and was assured that by Sunday
morning it would be in my email. Sunday arrived and still no email
from Orbitz. Sunday the 15th is the day I was supposed to contact
several people in the San Francisco area in order to make arrangements
for specialized equipment related to my visit to the area. I called a
total of four times on the evening of the 15th with the following results.

Call #1 - I was told that there was a ticket but that the ticked had
not been fully booked. (How is that possible? I also had a very
difficult time understanding the very heavy accent on the other end of
the line
as well as problems with the phone lines cutting in and out.)
As I was trying to sort out the problem I was hung up on.

Call #2 - I was referred to three different people, none of who I
could understand well, who informed me that there was a ticked booked,
but that it takes up to 48 hours for me to get an itinerary. I
explained that I had been waiting for 48 hours. Then your
representatives tried to tell me that my email account was not
working, the very same email account that I had just been reading
recently received emails on. I assured her that my email was working,
but also when I commented to my wife that I was no longer going to do
business with your company in the future, I was then abruptly hung up
on by her.

Call #3 - I was told by another customer service rep that I could
barely understand or hear due to bad phone lines, that now there was
no ticket on my record at all. And that there was no record of me
booking a flight. I asked to speak to a supervisor, whereupon I
waited on hold for ten minutes and was hung up on before being able to
speak to one.

Call #4 - My wife actually made this call as by this time I was in no
mood to deal with the substandard customer service and mistreatment I
had received thus far. She called the number provided on your website,
asked for a customer service supervisor and had been held on hold for
over an hour with no one even coming on to the phone lines to tell her
that she will be taken care of sometime in the near future. When
someone finally came on the phone my wife was informed by "Corrine"
that the itinerary
was posted on a third party site not even affiliated with Orbitz,
which I had not been informed of, by either your companies website
or your customer service representatives which I had tried to deal
with previously.

There had been no attempt to solve the small problem I had originally
by your regular customer service representatives, which, was just
wanting a copy of my flight itinerary. And the fact that my Itinerary
was posted to a third party website without my knowledge or permission
is inexcusable. I am beyond incensed at my treatment by your company,
your lack of accountability for your poor customer service and to be
sure that this is not something that happens to others I will be
posting copies of this message to you, the CEO of Orbitz to the local
and National Better Business Bureaus, as well as all of the many sites
now available on the internet which detail your companies long history
of substandard customer care and lack of business ethics.

Should you care to respond to my complaints you may do so at
EVBranscum@yahoo. com

Rest assured however that whatever you send will be forwarded to all
my friends, acquaintances, business relationships and again to the
many websites which have detailed your companies history of bad
business practices toward your customers.

Sincerely,
Edgar V. Branscum

Yes it could help me!

Do I want the to be beholding to the Government? HELL NO.

http://www.sacbee.com/capitolandcalifornia/story/1608325.html

Yes it would provide help that as I found out a couple weeks ago would keep me alive. But letting the government care for me goes against my grain. If I am to advocate the dropping of people from the medical roles because if they cant afford health care let Darwinian selection take its place. And I am willing to receive a handout for my health care? To quote the dread pirate Roberts "Death First"!

Jury of Peers

This is the way that is really justice.

http://theragblog.blogspot.com/2009/02/jury-nullification-peers-refuse-to.html

In a time in our country where our rights are being stomped upon by the oppressive forces known as "Law Enforcement" this is a breath of freedom. Just because it is a "Law" does not make it morally right. Just because I disagree with the use of a substance on a regular basis in most situations does not make either of us wrong. I can disagree with someone without rancor. I personally disagree with the marijuana laws. I have been a casual user in my youth. I voted for Bill Clinton although I was disappointed in his claim that "he didn't inhale". What a bunch of CRAP! Just say I was young and in college and I tried it. So we replaced him with a coke head, wow that was smart. And now we are now painting Michael Phelps with a bad brush because a picture was published of him smoking a bong! MORE crap. If I was Michael the photographer would be looking over his shoulder for a very long time. But I am a believer in a scope and a sabot round that does not leave penitentiary rifling on the bullet.
If the attorneys were to select me for a Jury in a case that I thought was an immoral law you can bet a large portion of the US's GDP that I would find a not-guilty verdict. And I would argue my stand on the fact that if a law in unjust then enforcing that law makes us as immoral as the people who wrote that law. And I am pretty sure y'all are aware of my stance on most politicians.
If we all would make a stand on morals we could maybe start this country back to a government of the, for the, and BY the PEOPLE. NOT the fat cats in DC or Downtown getting money for nothing and bankrupting a state that had one of the top ten economies in the WORLD by itself. But I suppose we need more $six figure administrators for programs in the state and larger class sizes in schools so we can poorly educate our many children.
But thats another rant.

Anarchy?

While watching the news this evening the County of Sacramento is going to have to lay off 72 armed Probation Officers between now and the first of March. The guy they had on the news who was I beleive the head of the union when asked what the population should do said "get a gun". Now being a firm believer in taking personal responsibility for my self and my family this is a new and terrifying twist. When someone allegedly representing the government admit in a public venue that the best thing to do is arm your selves that scares me. I do not expect safety in dealing with my government but I do expect them to keep control of the predators they release from jail/prison. According to the news report the 72 probation officer supervise some 1500 folks on probation. Now many of the probies will be nonviolent just trying to finish and get out of supervision. But the others will make up for it. They will not go back to prison. So we are going to see a larger number of officer involved shootings. Not fair to the cop but one less bad guy threatening my friends and family. Unfortunately if they are doing something that justifies me killing them, I have no problem in doing it, I will probably puke afterwards but will get 'r done. And then I will go to jail for a justifiable shoot. THAT is not fair. When someone who represents the government advises me that I need to arm myself for my own safety the forces of LAW are not up to the task and I do so and have a reason to KILL someone who is attacking me I should get a pat on the back not a prison sentence. Many of the criminals out on probation should have received excedrin headache number .357 and this would no longer be an issue.
And on top of this I am seeing an increase in other crimes as more people are getting desperate and need to put food on the table and a roof over thier heads. I will not condone crimes against others as a solution but do understand. It is hard to look at a hungry child and not do whatever it takes to put food in front of them. This is going to be a hard few months and I hope to see signs of recovery soon so I can have some hope. Right now I am checking my camping gear and maps to take to the hills if neccessary.
