Been Gone for awhile

I'm back now but I am now in a TERRIBLE quandry. My job refuses to adjust my schedule for days that I have school. I have school Friday evening and saturday during the day so I cannot work friday night. For those who do not know I work Graveyard shift wed-mon nights, I have three classes to go before I gradute. I already put off 1 class 3 times because work could not give me the time off. I was supposed to walk across the stage this week and get my degree, The rest of my friends who I have been in class with for 2 years walk this week. I am left behind and in a quandry. I am in a screwed if I do and screwed if I don't dilemma. If I quit school because I have to work I will have to pay back my student loans which because I am not earning even close to the poverty I will not be able to afford. If quit work so I can go to school I will not be able to afford simple stuff like food and a roof. Sure I could work in Stacies restaurant but it is still getting started and we cannot afford an employee. I amlooking for options here. Any one have any? Email melet me know I am at my wits end (I know only half way)

Sounds like you will have to quit the job you have and try to get another one that will let you have off the time you need. Ron worked at the Salvation Army pickup trailors. They hire students and work around your schedule. He was able to study while at work when it was slow. Maybe just any job will do, till you finish school anyway. It is important to finish school to get a good job later even tho that makes it hard to survive right now. Wish I could help more than just words. Thinking of you! Always, Pam

The obvious thing is to talk to your teacher(s) and school admins. See if the class is offered at some other time or if you can do make-up work. As critical as your situation is, they may make exceptions or special allowances for you.(I assume you've tried this already, but sometimes we miss the simple things.)

You have a classic dilemma. There is no one right clear answer. The real question is what is your priority? And I am of a mind that you need to be looking about two years ahead on this. And I'm leaning toward the education on the presumption that it will lead to better employment.

Hello, my response is, what in the long run is best for Stacie? What is ok for her and you, I guess the 2 of you need to talk and come to an agreement. Also check out indeed.com they list all the job posting from everyone. I hope you come to a workable agreement.
In my thoughts! R

I was sorry to hear of Ottar's untimely passing recently, as you can see if you go to his Facebook page or the Facebook page of his wife ... He was a good friend to all who knew him and he will be missed greatly ...

Apologies, didn't realize the links would be negated when I posted the previous comment. Hope a shortened one works here: facebook.com/stacie.shoob is Ottar's wife's Facebook page, you can read all about Ottar's illness and passing there. Again, hoist a cold one for Ottar and remember him fondly, as I do. -- Grigorii Tataroskii
