Unka Arnie loses this roll

He gambled on taking air tankers off of contract and made them a call per fire deal. they cast more for 3 days (the minimum they can be called out for) then they would cost for a week of standby and use. Thee is a fire right now in Auburn ( 1/2 an hour up the hill from where I live.
The link for it on the news station is:

They currently have eight air tankers currently on the fire. I also hear 3 helicopters are in use. Watching the fire on the news is a definite Aw Shit situation. It is right now at about 800 acres in the junction between rural and urban areas. A lot of peoples houses re currently burning. High temperature, high winds, and low humidity.

I don't think it actually saved the state any money this time. Well I guess it is a good thing that no one is out running a suction dredge in that area.
